Artscape Gallery Village

My how time passes, or maybe it is just being lazy. Here is the NEW news.  For other things that happened in the last two years see the resume page :D.

My August project this year was to build and style an artist colony region.  Only a few days to build and style the basics, but more time to greet artists, find some stellar artwork for the museum  and get all those ducks in a row.  You can read more about the project here.   Or just visit STRAND and explore.

The Witch in the Steam-House

I haven't posted here in forever seeing that I don't really need a resume these days, but wanted to note that my brand new installation for Babbage (where I now have a small plot) was picked as the number one destination. Woot.

Sanoria at Fantasy Faire

Sanoria at Fantasy Faire 2018

The Faire has been open a few days now. With lots to see and plenty to do, people watching is a fun as exploration.

A very nice post appeared today from PrimPerfect on the Litfest tour.

And some stories and photos from the Litfest Tour later in the week.

Seven More Fame Minutes

Compared to the other artists in this episode of Designing Worlds, I had very little to say *wink* -- perhaps I just talk quickly.  My kitty, Pearl got a tiny bit of fame too. She was very well-behaved during the whole shoot.   My segment starts at 34 minutes or so in.

Terradale in the Press

Terradale had it soft opening in mid-August, garnered a place in the destination guide quickly and had a nice write up in the SL forums.

Today it had its first -- to my knowledge -- write up in SL Newser - Design.

There have been comments on the blog, mostly about the sad ending and some thank you IMs from visitors.  I am glad that people are enjoying Terradale as much as I enjoyed making it. I am glad so many are becoming invested in Sarah's story.

Official open with me wandering around in Steamy attire and answering any questions folks might have will be September 2nd.

Creative Contrasts

click for large view
My work was featured in the special UWA retrospective edition of Sim Street Journal.   I was very happy to see it across from Fae Varriale's work as I featured it prominently in my  UWA machinima that year  (  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ShQ5JB5MZM  ) and overlayed the two at the beginning of the film :D.

When asked to comment, here was my quote:  " I will miss the challenges at UWA; they definitely brought the art community together and encouraged that outter "real" world to learn more about virtual reality and its ability to touch ones heart."

Busy Busy Gal

I have been a busy girl with some time consuming projects of late.

Just up my first feature film (5 min) made totally in Opensim. I built all the city sets, but of course I didn't realize I WAS building sets when I began construction seven months ago.

The characters in the bar scene are all NPCs. The male lead is indeed -- NOT me (OMG). I mean I am talented, but I certainly can't drive a bike, run two avatars AND film a moving vehicle.

SLartist link is here
YouTube (1080) link is here.

Also newish is a remake of Lost in the City.  This consists of old footage mixed with new. The story changed a bit in the retelling -- as it should.

Slartist link is here.
YouTube link is here.

PG rated for partial nudity, this very arty film features work by Second Life artists.

Slartist link is here.

I have also been making LOTS of tutorials (Windlight, Building, Photography) and you can find that channel here

And that pretty much catches up any visitors wandering in :D.

100!

I'll take my tiny doses of fame and enjoy them. My Google+ site (primarily OpenSim and Blender tips and just used in actuality for three months or so) reached 100 followers.

Woot!

February - Films and Surprises

Well let's start with the surprise:

Congratulations!  You have been nominated for an Avi Choice Award!  For the past few weeks Second Life residents have been submitting nominations, for the Arts categories, via the Avi Choice website.  After a process of consolidation, you are a finalist and will be put up for voting.  The specific category you have been nominated for is:

FAVORITE MACHINIMA PRODUCTION

A nice kudo for sure.

Two new films went up last month, a very busy one for me. Both were made in OpenSim where I seem to be building a new world to film in. Who knew?

Now for the most part it is a build it yourself world there, but my city is looking REALLY nice and I am happy. I have plans to remake an early film -- on in the sense of the theme and music and locale. That should be fun.

Meanwhile here are the new films for 2015 (very short with the first actually being a background music video for my club dancers in OS.

And this was a quick video showing my homework making my NPC dancers. She was my first and actually got replaced by "better models" :D but a fun shoot.
